Vier Personen wurden schließlich zum Wiener Rettungsdienst versetzt, der von mehreren Teams eingesetzt wurde. Aber niemand sollte ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert werden.

Nach ca. 20 Minuten wurde das Feuer mit Ausnahme von schwelenden Kohlen gelöscht. Als am Morgen Rettungsdienste von der Wiener Feuerwehr eintrafen, kam bereits dichter Rauch aus den Fenstern der Stadtstraße. Ein Teil der Haustür warfare gesprengt, und das Treppenhaus im dritten Stock war voller Rauch.
