Australia has witnessed several closures and shut down this week. Recently, 33 libraries of Brisbane has been closed to reduce the number of transmitted cases of coronavirus. Online library services have been launched in the city as no library will re-open from Monday until the next announcement. Online resources have been provided to the readers with a spike of items from 20 to 60.
Mayor Adrian Schrinner said that public places have started to shut down in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. The libraries will be closed for the readers, but librarians will work as usual. The online library of Brisbane will offer over 150,000 eBooks, eAudiobooks, and magazines from Monday with 24/7 availability. It will also provide music and video streaming services to the citizens. The council website will open the digital library for the reader on Monday with the application link.
