রংপুরে গতকাল (১৭ মে) মঙ্গলবার দেশরত্ন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার ৪১ তম ঐতিহাসিক স্বদেশ প্রত্যাবর্তন দিবস পালন করেন জেলা আওয়ামীলীগ ও এর অঙ্গ সংগঠন। সারাদেশের ন্যায় রংপুরেও নানা কর্মসুচীর মধ্যদিয়ে এ দিবসটি পালিত হয়। দিবসটি উপলক্ষে সকালে নগরীর বেতপট্রিস্থ কার্যালয়ে দলীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন ও বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতিতে পুস্পমাল্য অপর্ন করে নেতাকর্মীরা। পরে দুপুরে একটি বর্নাঢ্য র‍্যালি নগরীর প্রধান প্রধান সড়ক প্রদক্ষিন শেষে ডিসির মোড়ে বঙ্গবন্ধুর মুরালে এসে শেষ হয়। এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন, রংপুর মহানগর আওয়ামীলীগ সভাপতি মোঃ সাফিয়ার রহমান শফি, মহানগর যুবলীগ সভাপতি মোঃ সিরাজুম মনির বাশার, সাধারণ সম্পাদক সম্পাদক মুরাদ হোসেন, জাতীয় শ্রমিক লীগ সভাপতি প্রান কৃষ্ণ গোস্মামী , সাধারণ সম্পাদক নজরুল ইসলাম দুখু সহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ।

এসময় মহানগর সভাপতি সাফিয়ার রহমান শফি বলেন, ১৭ মে আওয়ামী লীগের সভানেত্রী ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার স্বদেশ প্রত্যাবর্তন দিবস। ১৯৭৫ সালে বঙ্গবন্ধু হত্যাকাণ্ডের পর দীর্ঘ বছর প্রবাসে জীবন কাটিয়ে ১৯৮১ সালের এই দিনে নিজ মাতৃভুমিতে আসেন তিনি । ওই দিন সারা দেশ থেকে আসা লাখো মানুষ তাকে স্বাগত জানান,ভালোবাসায় সিক্ত হন বঙ্গবন্ধুকন্যা।

এছাড়াও মহানগর যুবলীগ নেতা সিরাজুম মনির বাশার বলে, বঙ্গবন্ধুর দুই কন্যা শেখ হাসিনা ও শেখ রেহানা দেশের বাইরে থাকায় বেঁচে যান। দুঃখের বিষয়, ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্ট বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ও তার পরিবারের অধিকাংশ সদস্যকে হত্যা করা হয়। বিদেশে অবস্থানকালে ১৯৮১ সালের ১৪, ১৫ ও ১৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিত আওয়ামী লীগের জাতীয় সম্মেলনে শেখ হাসিনা দলের সভানেত্রী নির্বাচিত হন।

অষ্টম শ্রেণির রেজিস্ট্রেশনে অতিরিক্ত ফি নেওয়া হচ্ছে, এ বিষয়ে দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা হলে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী বলেন, সরকার নির্ধারিত যে ফি আছে সেই ফি এর বাইরে কেউ যদি অতিরিক্ত চার্জ করে, সুনির্দিষ্টভাবে আমাদের কাছে কেউ যদি অভিযোগ করে তাহলে আমরা সেসব প্রতিষ্ঠানের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেবো।
