RELIGIOUS CONVERSION: A serious predicament in India

All religions and beliefs deserve the same amount of respect, even if they are different from your own.

Religious conversion is one of the biggest problems in India. Love Jihad is a conspiracy theory developed by proponents of the Hindutva ideology. The conspiracy theory purports that Muslim men target Hindu women for conversion to Islam by means such as seduction, kidnapping, deception marriage, feigning love, etc. Where there should be unity and brotherhood, we see different castes fighting among others over different matters. Time has changed but not the mindsets of people. They still think that fighting is a solution which is absolutely not. Unemployment, economic recession, climate change, environmental crisis, the problem of Religious Conversions have became the biggest of them all.

A survey report in India revealed that most of the Hindus and Muslims don't want inter-marriages between them. The majority of people in the country respect other religions and shows tolerance, which is actually good but majority of the people in the country still harbor fear and insecurities and they thinks that if they let their children marry a person of different Religion, they will lead an unhappy life or can be brainwashed or forced to do a religious conversion. What the news channels show is all exaggerated information of the mass conspiracy at a large scale level that a lot of people are carrying out forceful mass conversions that is actually not happening.

Freedom of Religion in India is a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 25-28 of the Constitution of India. Every citizen of India has a right to practice and promote their religion peacefully. In my opinion inter- religious marriages lead people to live together in harmony and they get to know more about other religions and the people. The brotherhood rises among the religions. The more people stay away from other religions, the more they will see them negatively and deceitfully.

Nowadays, people fight over religion as they have no other work to do and we can relate to the situation of unemployment in our country. But disturbing the peace and harmony is not the right thing to do in any case. One is free to follow any religion they want with all due respect.

Our nation is home to many religions. All religions preach the goodness of truth and moral living, love and compassion. All religious saints, seers, scholars, priests and social thinkers have only spread the message of love and peace. We should respect all religions, in the same manner, as we respect our own religion, since the underlying message of all religions is the same.

May we resolve to practice love and promote unity and peace to build a harmonious world.

I'm in pain.

I am a boy in my late teenage and I'm going through a lot of issues that occur to others at my age. Attraction, misconception, misunderstandings, betrayals,grief and just being tired of it all in the end and staying depressed. But today I'm not here complaining about anything. I'm here to let off a few things off of my chest as I'm going to tell about my best friend who's also a girl and I'm deeply deeply in love with her. She knows and I was lucky enough that she loved me back. She is going through tons lot more than me right now and it's killing me to see her like that. In this time when I can't even go see her and meet her and comfort her to let her know that I'm there. It's really the worst. She's a girl and unfortunately she naturally has to go through freaking lot more. I can't imagine how she deals with everything. She's so strong at her core. She's the strongest girl I've ever seen. People doesn't recognize this as she's different for them all. She loves animals the most. She's the most diehard animal lover for me. But she's taken as childish for this and nobody truly understands what animals means to her in her life. She lost her father when she was a little girl in early middle school grade. She's been fighting since then. She has to survive through such times by her own and I'll clear this up right now that I'm a disgrace to be called as a best friend or even a friend to her. I'm unable to help her ease her misery. I'm unable to help her at anything and I'm in pain because of how I'm unable to repay her love, kindness and most importantly her undying trust and support she's given me when no one did. I've hurt her. I've hurt her because of my ego and my inability to accept things. I've hurt her because of my anger. Back in the days I used to make her forget for sometime how much she hates herself but now I only increase her hatred. I'm contributing but towards her misery. She is the strongest girl ever and I have seen deep down inside her heart that she wants to be happy without anyone. She wants everything to end but has given up on the hope that it ever will. I love her. I love her the most and I always will and I'm never going to leave her. She's the one I'm supposed to be for the rest of my life. She's working hard for her future. I'm the most proud of her hard work and I always take that into count. I always do. She's willing to work hard to earn something for her future. I can't be more in love with her. She's my undying dream. She's the reason I'm alive today. She has saved my life as I suffer from a potentially incurable disease. I can't ever give her back what she's done for me. What she's going through everyday right now. She needs my prayers. She needs me but I'm a disgrace to unable to do anything. In the end I just wanted to say that with her I'm alive and no matter how tough life gets on us on her. I'll never leave her. I love you my OPPA. Please be alright and hang in there. You're my inspiration. Before going to hospital and maybe get hospitalised I'll remember you and I'll kiss your photo because you're the most adorable little girl of mine. With LOVE- your PARTNER.
