Three arrested in Dera Bassi robbery case.
- On June 10, accused snatched Rs 1 crore from Nagpal, a Dera Bassi-based property dealer, and shot at a fruit vendor who had tried to nab the culprits
Police on Monday claimed to have cracked the Rs 1 crore Derabassi property dealer robbery, with the arrest of three people. Mohali police on Monday arrested two more persons in the armed robbery case at Dera Bassi and and have now recovered a total Rs 68 lakh from the accused. The arrested were identified as Maninderjeet Singh and Saurabh Sharma. A third accused, Ranjodh Singh, had already been arrested and Rs 28 lakh was recovered from him. Rs 40 lakh was recovered from Maninderjeet.
SAS Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vivek Sheel Soni said, "Ranjodh was the main accused and known to property dealer Harjit Nagpal. Ranjodh and Maninder were caught from Jandiala, while Saurav from Gohana. After the loot, all the five accused shared the cash between them. Police recovered Rs 68 lakh from the three, while Rs 30 lakh is with the other two. They have also been identified and will be arrested soon. One of them was a food delivery person whose motorcycle was also used."
He said that accused Maninderjit Singh and Sourav Sharma would be produced in the Hon'ble court and police remand would be obtained. More important revelations are expected.
Maninderjit Singh son of Kuljit Singh resident of village Badala Johal Teh and district Amritsar age about 25 years. The accused was arrested from Jandiala Guru Amritsar by a team of CIA staff in charge and SHO Handesra police station and recovered Rs. 40 lakh later.
Sourav Sharma son of Rajveer Singh resident # 56, Ward No. 13, near Vishnu Nagar Gurdwara Sahib Gohana Police Station City Gohana District Gohana Age about 22 years was arrested today from the from his house by the team of SHO Derabassi and Lalru Police Stations.
