Here, I would like to highlight the importance of skill development and initiatives taken by Hamari Pahchan NGO.
According to Periodic Labour Force Survey data 2019-20, 86.1% of those between 15 and 59 years had not received any kind of vocational training. India has an advantage of demographic dividend because of its vast population, it has a high scope of providing skilled manpower to the labour market. But unfortunately, only 4.7% of the total workforce in India had undergone formal skill training. The Government of India has taken initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, SANKALP and STRIVE to improve relevant skills in the workforce.
Government cannot help each and every person, so Hamari Pahchan NGO came forward with the skill development project to help people who really wanted to be self-dependent. The goals of the project are eradication of unemployment, equal opportunities for all to earn a livelihood and mainly the empowerment of women. This organisation is achieving progress by conducting frequent training programs, workshops to impart vocational skills and it is also a platform where unemployed women can sell their products. The success stories of this initiative are 2000+ women are trained, 300+ workshops are conducted and 10000+ products are delivered globally. This initiative mainly focuses on women empowerment and being financially independent is the real independence for women.
