Maharashtra's first corona special hospital is ready in Pune. The construction work of this 11-storey building in the Sassoon Hospital complex was in progress since 2008. By March this year, 75 percent of the work was completed. The remaining work was to be done in a year. But in view of emergency under the corona, the remaining work was completed in just 15 days. The hospital has a provision of 700 beds. On Monday, more than 70 Corona patients were also shifted.
PWD Superintendent Rajendra Rahane said that in March when we decided to speed up the construction work of this building, the work of plaster, painting, plumber, lift was left. Sanitation, firefighting systems, underground pipelines, water pipelines, medical gas pipelines and similar other systems were mobilized on a war footing. Due to the lockdown, there was a hindrance in the work, then people went door-to-door and completed the work of painting as well as lift within 15 days.
Severe corona patients need ventilator support to breathe. There is a shortage of ventilators in general to large hospitals of the country. But in view of Corona in Sassoon Hospital, adequate arrangements have been made for them. Dr. Ajay Chandanwale, Dean of the hospital said that 40 ventilators have been provided here.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court seeking cancellation of the bail of DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan in a money laundering case. The ED has contended that Wadhawan allegedly violated the bail conditions and traveled to Mahabaleshwar during the lockdown enforced due to Corona virus crisis.
The petition filed by Enforcement Directorate advocate Purnima Kantharia has been accepted by the bench of High Court Judge PD Naik and fixed the next date of hearing of the case for April 23.
