As I read this, I vividly imagined all of the events and completely visualized the situations and feelings upon it. My different emotions arose as I encounter this text.

Evidently, the theme of the story is about the unconditional love and concern a 'katulong' or slave could give to his masters despite of some hardships, and the remarkable worth it could forever leave even in one of the family members.

Human servitude, as we all know, is a contemporary affliction that is sometimes veiled or rationalized as cultural norm. Furthermore, as he retells the event, we can see how he used both the memoir form and personal essays to convey it, and he didn't just offer pithy quips. But rather, he used craft and strategies to immerse us, the reader, in his own personal life. The author also made used of descriptive languages to elicit responses from our senses. He also utilized the braiding approach to entangle the data and some of his insights. And mesages were resented vividly like we shouldn't underestimate slaves, instead, we must let them feel the love and freedom they also deserve.

Set goals

When you set a goal, you make a decision to act in a way that will help you achieve what you want. Goals give you a direction to focus on – one that’s measurable and has an endpoint. This can help you to stay motivated.

Choose goals that interest you

You’re much more likely to stay motivated if you’re working towards something that you genuinely want to do or achieve, rather than what other people want for you.

Find things that interest you within goals that don’t

Sometimes other people set goals or tasks for us that we don’t find interesting or want to do. So, try and find something within that task that does motivate you. For example: ‘I find maths challenging, but it’s going to help me become a builder, which I want more than anything.’

Plot your progress

When you’re working towards something, it can be really motivating if you can see evidence that you’re making progress. Draw or create a visual representation of how you’re coming closer to achieving the goal you’ve set yourself.

Use rewards

Promise yourself some sort of reward each time you complete a step/task.

I do believe that we all have our different goals for everything, it's just that we are lacking of something. Even me, I only have one goal for myself and that is to be at peace alone, I'm not referring to 'death' what I mean is being alone in a place where I wanna be and being able to do things I wasn't able to in my current situation.

Calaguas, Camarines Norte

Strictly speaking, Calaguas is a group of islands, east of Manila in the province of Camarines Norte. While a handful of islands make up the area, the island of Tinaga is best known and most frequented for its pristine 3km (2mi) stretch called Mahabang Buhangin. Not nearly as distinguished as Boracay or Palawan, the islands of Calaguas remain unadulterated. Fancy accommodations are also not an option in Mahabang Buhangin, so it has become a popular camping ground for the adventurous islander. Surrounding rolling terrain and hiking trails also present a more active alternative to lying on the beach.

Matukad Island, Camarines Sur

Once hidden jewels, the islands around the Caramoan peninsula in Camarines Sur were brought into the limelight after being featured on several seasons of the long-running reality competition, Survivor. Malcapuya Island, Palawan

DRINKING ETIQUETTE

1. Be Pleasant

For many people, drinking alcohol is nothing more than a pleasant way to relax. People with alcohol use disorders, however, drink to excess, endangering both themselves and others.

2. Drink in Moderation

To reduce the risk of alcohol-related harms, the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that adults of legal drinking age can choose not to drink, or to drink in moderation by limiting intake to 2 drinks or less in a day for men or 1 drink or less in a day for women, on days when alcohol is consumed.

3. Drink Slowly



“Slow Drinking” is a way for people take a relaxed approach to consuming alcohol. This means being smart and keeping the situation pleasant by drinking in moderation while enjoying good food and conversation with others.

4. Do not mix drinks

Drinks that contain high quantities of congeners may increase hangover symptoms. Clear beverages like vodka, gin, and white wine contain less congeners than darker drinks like brandy, whisky, rum, and red wine. Mixing the congeners may increase stomach irritation.

5. Drink Coffee for Hungover

Currently, there is no cure for a hangover, and consuming coffee is unlikely to provide much, if any, relief. Similar to alcohol, caffeine, which is present in coffee, is a diuretic. Therefore, it may further dehydrate the body, potentially prolonging or worsening certain symptoms of a hangover.

6. Call I a day when you have enough

Drinking alcohol can be more harmful for some people. The safest option for children and young people under 18 is not to drink any alcohol at all. It's also best to avoid alcohol if you're taking any medicines or recreational drugs since when mixed with alcohol, they can have an unpleasant effect.

1. North Korea 🇰🇵

Kim Il Sung Birthday Celebration

The Day of the Sun (Korean: 태양절; MR: T'aeyang-jŏl) is an annual public holiday in North Korea on 15 April, the birth anniversary of Kim Il-sung, founder and Eternal President of North Korea. It is the most important national holiday in the country, and is considered to be the North Korean equivalent of Christmas

The hanbok (in South Korea) or Chosŏn-ot (in North Korea) is the traditional Korean clothes. The term "hanbok" literally means "Korean clothing". The hanbok can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms of Korea period (1st century BC–7th century AD), with roots in the peoples of what is now northern Korea and Manchuria.

Korean, known in the language itself as Kugo, is the language of the Korean Peninsula in northeast Asia. In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

North Korea is home to more than 25 million people, who live under a form of communist rule, which strictly controls all areas of daily life. People have to ask permission to travel around and it's difficult for visitors to enter the country too.

Like Korean music in general, North Korean music includes kinds of both folk and classical, courtly music, including genres like sanjo, pansori, and nongak.

In North Korea Cuisine, some dishes vary in flavor compared to South Korean versions, with some North Korean dishes being less spicy and more varied in composition compared to South Korean preparations.

Based on estimates from the late 1990s and the 2000s, North Korea is mostly irreligious, with the main religions being Korean shamanism and Chondoism. There are small communities of Buddhists and Christians.

2. Libya 🇱🇾



Acacus Festival

Held annually between December and January in Libya, this unique event takes place amongst the spectacular scenery of the Jebel Acucus basalt monoliths in the heart of the Sahara.

Libya Clothing. Girls commonly wear brightly colored dresses, and boys wear jeans and shirts. Young men and women wear predominantly modern clothing, but most women continue to cover their hair in keeping with Islamic tradition.

The official language in Libya is Arabic. Arabic is written in a standard form throughout the Arab world.

It is important for Libyans to maintain the dignity, honour and a good reputation of their families through their own conduct.

Various kinds of Arab music are popular in Libya such as Andalusi music, locally known as Ma'luf, Chabi and Arab classical music.

Libyan cuisine derives much from the traditions of Mediterranean, North African, and Berber cuisines.

Sunni Muslims represent between 90 and 95 percent of the population, Ibadi Muslims account for between 4.5 and 6 percent, and the remainder includes small communities of Christians, Hindus, Baha'is, Ahmadi Muslims, and Buddhists.

3. Canada 🇨🇦



Beaver tails

One of Canadian's tradition. Do not be alarmed — Canadians do not eat tails of actual beavers. In Canada, beaver tails are giant, deep-fried sweet delicacies

Canadian's wear parkas, long john's (an undergarment, basically long underwear), ear muffs, scarves, gloves, mittens, tuques (woolen caps), various jackets made of linen and leather, leggings, ojibwa shirts, trousers, and moccasins. These are unisex clothes, good for both men and women.

Canada has two official languages: French and English. The majority of most Canadians speak English, while almost all French-speakers live in the province of Quebec.

In general, Canadians are more reserved and polite than Americans, and take matters of etiquette a little more seriously. Shake hands and introduce yourself when meeting Canadians for the first time.

Based on national statistics and a nation-wide survey, the most popular music genre in Canada is alternative rock followed by folk, pop, rock, rap, country, blues, adult contemporary, world music, and then other music.

Poutine: One of the most staple Canadian dishes originating from French, and this dish is the perfect representative of Canadian cuisine.

In Canada the principal religion is Christianity; as recently as the 1971 census, almost 90 per cent of the population claimed adherence.

4. Argentina 🇦🇷

The Argentine Tango is probably the most famous of all of our traditions. It originates from the streets of Buenos Aires in the 19th Century – where African, Caribbean and European heritage fused to create a new dance.

Argentines tend to dress up more than the average American. Young men wear jeans and t-shirts or soccer jerseys, but you'll also see men wearing nice pants and shoes. Women generally wear very feminine clothing.

While Argentina's official language is Spanish, Argentina has enjoyed so much international migration that Arabic, Italian, German, English, and French are also spoken—at least in pockets throughout the country.

Argentines are generally friendly and hospitable to those they meet. Although many Argentines are focused on building strong communities, a strain of individualism is also prevalent in the country.

Argentines typical music are carnavalito, cumbia, candombe, polka, media cana, rasquido doble, and of course tango which has managed to capture the worldwide attention in the second half of 20th century.

Argentinian food is heavy on meat dishes. Argentina is known for its beef but there's so much more to Argentine cuisine than just asado.

About four-fifths of Argentine people are at least nominally Roman Catholic; the majority of them are nonpracticing.

5. New Zealand 🇳🇿

Every year since 1985, the community celebrates Gumboot Day — a fun-filled family event that includes the town’s famed gumboot throwing contest. The iconic festival is held on the Tuesday after Easter.

New Zealanders wear modern Western-style clothing. They prefer to dress casually.

English and Te Reo Māori are the most widely spoken languages in New Zealand.

New Zealanders can be somewhat reserved, especially with people they do not know. Once they develop a personal relationship, they are friendly, outgoing and social.

New Zealand music has Western and Polynesian influences with popular genres being jazz, blues, country, rock and hip hop.



Similar to the cuisine of Australia, the cuisine of New Zealand is a diverse British-based cuisine, with Mediterranean and Pacific Rim influences as the country becomes more cosmopolitan.

New Zealand's religion is nominally Christian, with Anglican, Roman Catholic, and Presbyterian denominations being the largest.

6. Greece 🇬🇷



First Day of the Month

Kalo Mina (good month) is a traditional greeting you will hear on the first day of the month. Important to Greek culture, the first day of the month symbolizes a new beginning. Greeks greet each other to wish good things for the month ahead.

Today loose-fitting white cotton or silk shirts are worn, together with embroidered vests and jackets are the greeks clothing. Women use long chemises and skirts, men still wear vraka and foustanella

The vast majority of the 10.7m population of Greece speak Greek, which is the country's official language.

Greek society is noted for its strong family structure and a low crime rate.



Contemporary laïkó (σύγχρονο λαϊκό), also called modern laïkó, is currently Greece's mainstream music genre.

Like other Mediterranean cuisines, Greek food has a reputation for being heart healthy with its heavy use of olive oil, fish, lean meats, vegetables, herbs and grain, although some dishes can be quite rich, like the classic moussaka.

Greece is officially a secular state. However, its religious and social landscape is deeply influenced by the Greek Orthodox Church

7. Sydney Australia 🇦🇺



Sydney is lucky enough to be home to one of Australia’s most famous events, the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Mardi is the French word for Tuesday, and gras means “fat.” In France, the day before Ash Wednesday came to be known as Mardi Gras, or “Fat Tuesday.”

Aussies who call this region home live in shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and flip-flops (we call them “thongs”).

Though Australia has no official language, English is regarded as the de facto national language.

Australians are generally not formal, so greetings, even initial greetings, are casual and laid back.

In 2015, the most popular genres of music in Australia by sales were rock and pop. Combined, these genres accounted for 76.13 percent of all sales

Modern Australian cuisine means fusion cuisine. Its focus is on the use of natural and native ingredients, ethical sourcing and bridging communication between Indigenous and non-Indigenous foodies.

The 2011 Census most common responses were Catholic, (28.3%), Anglican (14.7%), Islam (5.3%) and Eastern Orthodox (4.6%). 17.5% declared no religion.

REFLECTION ON CULTURE

The culture matters as it is the soul of our identity. We will be known because of our culture. It is the reason why people being united.

Culture is an important part of people's lives. I have learned that it affects your views, your values, your mood, your hopes, your loyalty, and your worries and fears. I have learned also that culture makes people different and alike. When you live in the same country or state, you will have the same beliefs, traditions and perspective about your beginning. While on the other hand, if you live in different country or state, you would experience culture shock as you have different culture. People became different and alike depending on the culture they have.
