Airlines set a plan to suspend flights of over two dozen American airports, including Chicago.

A group of airlines, i.e., Delta, JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines, has set plans to suspend their flight services in over two dozen American airports. They have knocked on the door of the U.S. Transportation Department on Tuesday to get approval for the suspension. The services for Chicago's O'Hare International Airport will also be discontinued.

The coronavirus cases in the United States reached 1 million on Tuesday, which decreased transportation through the airway and hence forced the airlines to shut down the services. As per the reports of Reuters, the air travel demand has been decree by 95%. Earlier, United and Frontier Airlines requested to shut down the services, which got declined by the Department of Transportation.

Mother of Chicago man who hosted the party said she got horrified by the video.

The mother of Chicago boy who hosted the party came forward and said that his son threw the party when she was on a 24-hour shift. His 26-year-old arranged the house party and violated the social distancing rule on Friday night. The video got viral through a Facebook post, and even Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot responded to it. The lady said that she got horrified after seeing the video.

The homeowner, the first response, said that she was unaware of the party and got to know about it after the arrival of the police. The police showed the woman the video of the party, which startled her. She hadn't visited her family in nearly two months owing to the risk of transmission of the disease.

Chicago restaurants are facing closures from the last five weeks due to the pandemic. In this situation, local independent restaurants have made a callous decision to shut down their businesses permanently. These beloved eateries are forced to take this decision as "stay at home" orders are getting longer and longer. And, still, there is no hope for reopening.

Jeanne Roeser, the owner of Toast, announced that their outlets would be closing permanently amidst coronavirus crisis through a Facebook post. She said that the restaurant is serving the city for 24 tears, but, it is incapable of handling the current situation as online orders have declined.

Chicago cop shooting a man recorded in CTA cam.

A video has been released in which a cop was found shooting an unarmed man on the back. The short-order cook was passing through the subway when he got shot at the foot of the subway escalator. The whole scene got filmed in the new extended security camera in the subway. Roman, 33, is currently in the hospital with severe injuries.

The man was charged for violating the coronavirus ordinance and got shot when the police tried to stop him from going one train to another. The CTA camera video clearly shows the incident and the man running on the top of the escalator in the busy red line station.

Governor Pritzker responds on the Chicago viral video.

Governor J.B. Pritzker admonished the young partygoers, who attended a house party in Chicago. The house party came into the eyes of thousands of people after the video went viral through a Facebook post. Pritzker said that those people have not only violated the coronavirus restrictions intentionally but also broke the trust of people and put them at risk. He added that he has not seen the video but heard of it, which has raised the concern among the residents.

The video was shared through live streaming on Facebook by Tink Purcell, which showed a massive house party. The video went viral overnight and has received 1.4 million views with over 60,000 shares.

UIC Medical Center nurse died after contracting with COVID-19.

Joyce Pacubas-Le Blanc, a dedicated nurse of UIC Medical Centre, tragically died after contracting with coronavirus disease. The hospital authority has consoled for her and said she will always be remembered for her work and help. The nurse was not even good at work but also helped her colleagues in managing the health stock supplies. Her sister, Jessica Bertelson, said that her sister used to help other nurses with the equipment she had.

Le Blanc was the eldest of five children, and she always played the role of a mother hen for the family. She contracted the deadly virus last month and was under treatment. Terence Yee, president of the Illinois Nurses Association, appreciated her work and called her "hard worker".

Chicago City Council votes to withdraw horse-drawn carriages from the streets.

An ordinance for the removal of horse-drawn carriages been sent to Chicago City Council. The council has made plans to make these carriages as a thing of the past with 46-4 votes on Friday. These wagons will be pulled out of the streets by the end of the year. The animal right activists and some aldermen continued asking for the ban on these carts for years.

The aldermen have voted on account of citing traffic congestion downtown, multiple citations from the city and animal welfare concerns. These carriages are often found carrying travellers from Chicago Water Towers to the Loop, Millennium Park, and Buckingham Fountain. The Committee on License and Consumer Protection of the city first passed the ordinance before City Council.

Chicago City Council approves the mayor's emergency powers.

Chicago City Council has authorised the decree of Mayor Lori Lightfoot amidst the coronavirus on Friday, April 24. This will help the mayor to get over the objection of the administration for the mayor, rendering herself the authority from spending public money without the supervision of the council.

The emergency power ordinance of the mayor has been passed by the Aldermen of the council with 29-21 vote after a disputed debate. Lightfoot again rose the topic of the ordinance on Friday meeting following the rejection of the package by the opponents with a parliamentary method on Wednesday. Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, 35th, said that the decree passed by Lightfoot confirms the equitable distribution of funds to protect the citizens of Chicago in the pandemic on Friday, which helped the package to pass.

It has crossed 50,000 shares on different social media sites. Chicago Police Department has also reacted after the video went viral in the city, showcasing the violation of social distancing rules.

CPD has reported that they may arrest people in future for breaching the coronavirus restrictions. The video shows that a large number of people attended that party. The virus has hardly hit the South and West sides of the city with a large number of patients from the African American community.
