In Northamptonshire, excavations before the construction of a high-speed railway archaeologists discovered an ancient Roman settlement
Evidence suggests that the Roman village of Chipping Warden was inhabited long before the Romans actually arrived on English soil.
The first settlers arrived in the Blackgrounds around 400 BC, and for the next several hundred years the village remained small. The situation changed in the IV century AD, when the Romans began to expand sharply.
Researchers have found a diverse mix of Roman objects, including cremation urns, toys, glassware, fine jewelry, and more than 300 Roman coins. They also found handcuffs used on prisoners or slaves.
Remains of an ichthyosaur 10 meters long and about 180 million years old have been found in Britain
Sea dragons, similar in shape to dolphins, were 1 to 25 meters long.
Anglian Water, which owns the Rutland Water Nature Reserve, has said it is seeking funding to protect and display the remains.
He is the greatest, his fossil is also the most complete of its kind. This ichthyosaur is considered to be the first found member of its species "Temnodontosaurus trigonodon".
It was discovered by Joe Davis, head of the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Fund's conservation team, during the island's usual drainage in the lagoon to restore the landscape.
The discovery was an exciting and real career event. It's nice to learn so much from the discovery and think that this amazing creature once swam in the seas above us, "said Davis.

Footprints found on a beach in Wales were made by an early dinosaur species more than 200 million years ago
Paleontologists at the Museum of Natural History in London have said that the traces date back to the Triassic period and belong to very early sauropods or their relatives.
Their findings may also reveal information about the behavioral qualities of dinosaurs, such as how they walked and traveled in herds.
