On May 25, 2020, police detained George Floyd. During the detention, one of the policemen applied a suffocating method to him, stepping on his knee around the man's neck. Floyd, 46, has repeatedly said he can't breathe. The policeman held his knee on the man's neck for more than 8 minutes, as a result of which he died.
Floyd's death sparked mass protests against racism and police brutality across the country and beyond, as well as the intensification of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Floyd's family and hundreds of others marched in Minneapolis on Sunday.
