A faithful cricket fan will always phrase, “Nothing bigger than the game”. On the contrary, a modern cricket fan is faithful to the game for the drama and entertainment it provides, the high dosage of dopamine release just by witnessing the saga of a perfect high-profile game of cricket. From being a gentleman’s game to a pure classic entertainment stage, cricket has evolved for good, keeping the morals of the game intact. However, cricket in its purest red ball form (test matches) continues to amaze that a game which is played over 5 long days can make the audience and players so involved in emotions at the highest level both on and off the field.

One such day of high drama was day 3 of Cape Town test match. Day which began with both teams evenly poised aiming to a series victory turned out to be one of the most fascinating dates in modern cricket history owing to technology and question to the spirit of the game, as the world reacts.

Something which was unnoticed is, this type of act gives the younger mates a confidence to try to shatter the sport spirit, seeing such a lovely cricketer, Mayank, going towards the stump mic with his thoughts was fascinating yet hard to digest. Among all the chatter going on, the deputy of Virat, KL Rahul comes to the picture making a statement which could end friendships, pouring into the mic, “Whole country playing against 11”, no KL, its not the whole country, it’s just a game and tech which went wrong. But let me take you 15 years back, let’s say, India playing South Africa, imagining we did have DRS into place at that very time itself, but of course we had different boys on the field. Let’s replicate incident but this time, Kumble bowling to Kallis, DRS denied the wicket, Rahul Dravid smiles the way off, the match goes on. The only ask I do have today, what’s the difference between a Dravid and a KL ? May be twitter would react. Whatever it is, I shall be proud of Rahuls, Virats, Sachins, Kumbles or Ashwins and many more to come, as you all are the best for the game for the country.
