Thousands of players sign a petition to change PS Plus free games for May - AltChar
Sony's recent reveal of the two games they will be giving out for free this month as part of their PlayStation Plus service caused an outrage in the PS community, so much so that even a petition was made in hopes of resolving the issue.
PlayStation is easily one of the most popular gaming platforms which means that even the smallest of problems or controversies related to it will most certainly not go unnoticed. PlayStation Plus is a paid subscription service that allows its users to take part in online multiplayer sessions, and it gets them two free games a month, among a number of other features. Recently, a petition has been made for Sony, more specifically for PlayStation's CEO, Jim Ryan, to change the two games that are part of the free games lineup for May 2020. The petition states that with all the leaks in April claiming that Dying Light and Dark Souls Remastered are to be the two free games for this month, thousands of players were "pumped and hyped" for this month's PS Plus offer. Instead, as they claim, they were left "dumbfounded and forlorn" with the two games they were offered instead, those being Farming Simulator 19 and Cities: Skyline. This comes as quite a huge disappointment considering that a large number of players are forced to stay home due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. Also, if we consider that last month's free games included Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Dirt Rally 2.0, we think it's fair to say that it is quite understandable where this grief is coming from. Focus Home Interactive Farming Simulator 19 The user then goes on to add: Please join us and make the change. Do it for the NHS, do it for all those suffering in isolation. and after an arguably slow start, more than 5,000 people have already signed the petition. Justified or not, we will see what Sony's response will be and if they are going to make any changes regarding this matter. In any case, the next batch of PS Plus titles will be available for download on 5 May 2020.
