Last Lunar Eclipse Of 2020: How To Watch November Lunar Eclipse - Gizbot

November is coming to an end, and with it, the lunar eclipses for the year as well. Tomorrow (November 30), one can witness the last penumbral lunar eclipse of 2020, which also happens to coincide with Karthik Purnima, an Indian celebration. If you wish to witness the lunar eclipse, here's everything you need to know about it. Last Lunar Eclipse 2020: How To Watch? Space enthusiasts and sky gazers will likely be joined by people worldwide to view the last lunar eclipse of 2020. However, we in India might not be so lucky to enjoy the night view of the sky. That's because the Moon will be below the horizon when the eclipse occurs. According to astronomers and experts, the eclipse is expected to start around 1:02 PM in the afternoon, peak at around 3:12 PM, and conclude by 5:23 PM Indian time. In other words, it will be peak afternoon to late evening with the Sun blazing the sky when the last lunar eclipse occurs in India. Nevertheless, people living in North and South America, Australia, Europe, and select parts of Asia can witness the full glory of the last lunar eclipse of 2020. If you wish to have a good view of the sky event, you can Livestream it on several platforms. Last Lunar Eclipse 2020 Explained As noted, tomorrow's lunar eclipse is a penumbral one. Penumbra means half-shadow. The penumbral lunar eclipse happens when the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned with each other. Here, the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon, blocking the Sun's rays from reaching the Moon's surface. When this happens, the Moon is completely immersed in the penumbral cone of the Earth. In other words, the Earth covers all or part of the Moon with the outer part of its shadow. That said, it should also be noted that the penumbra is duller than the dark core of the Earth's shadow and it makes a penumbral eclipse difficult to differentiate from a normal full Moon!

Samsung is undoubtedly the leader in foldable smartphone technology with a handful of devices. Its portfolio includes the clamshell foldable smartphone - Galaxy Z Flip and the improved foldable smartphone - Galaxy Z Fold 2. Now, it looks like Samsung appears to be prepping a new type of foldable smartphone with a larger tablet display. Samsung Display, the display arm of the company appears to be prepping the next-generation foldable phone designs. It has left a hint of the foldable phone designs by giving a sneak peek at the tri-fold design, claims a report by SamMobile. A photo rhat has been revealed shows a gadget featuring a Z-style folding mechanism wherein the left third of the screen folds inwards onto the front of the centre third. Talking about the right third of the display, it appears to fold backward behind towards the center third of the screen. Eventually, this looks like a compact device when pitched against the non-foldable display smartphones. Foldable display design has numerous advantages to it. Firstly, users can experience the benefits of having a larger tablet within a compact footprint when it is folded. Moreover, the design hinted here doesn't seem to result in a below-par phone experience, which we saw with the original foldable smartphone that had a small screen space years back. Besides these, the most important concern that one would have when it comes to using multi-fold display design js durability and lifespan. Samsung being a leader in this segment is proposing to address these concerns of users. While Samsung's first-generation foldable smartphone had a major hinge-related issue, the company resolved the same and has come up with a few such models already. Having said that, adding another hinge adding to it would also result in some major challenges but the company has to overcome the same with the production of some reliable and durable foldable displays. But it remains to be seen how this multi-fold display phone might be perceived.
NASA, Nokia Partner For 4G LTE Communication On The Moon - Gizbot
NASA, Nokia Partner: NASA would naturally require an efficient and reliable communication setup for the Artemis Mission to the Moon. For the same reason, NASA is partnering with Nokia, who will be building and providing a 4G LTE cellular network on the Moon.
NASA is gearing up to launch the Artemis Mission to the Moon, scheduled to liftoff in 2024. For this, NASA would naturally require an efficient and reliable communication setup. For the same reason, NASA is partnering with Nokia, who will be building and providing a 4G LTE cellular network on the Moon. NASA, Nokia Partner NASA said in a statement that it would be funding USD 14.1 million to Nokia, who will be setting up the 4G network on the lunar surface. According to the United Press International, NASA Associate Administrator James Reuter said that the 4G cellular service enables astronauts to explore the Moon to communicate with the spacecraft. "With NASA funding, Nokia will look at how terrestrial technology could be modified for the lunar environment to support reliable, high-rate communications," he said. To note, the funding adds to USD 370 million for the Artemis funding, which the premier space agency announced recently. Most of the budget funding was channeled to SpaceX and the United Launch Alliance. Nokia 4G Networks On The Moon Nokia has been in the news for its network technology lately. Moreover, this won't be the company's first attempt to introduce 4G LTE on the lunar surface. Looking back, Nokia joined hands with PTScientists - a German space company and also with the UK-based Vodafone. Nokia and Vodafone had planned to build an LTE network on the Moon that would have sent a high-definition video from the Moon back here on Earth. However, the mission never got off the ground. Moreover, Nokia has also been aggressively pushing 5G networks as well. The Finnish company has rolled out a new software technology that can upgrade existing 4G networks to 5G. This is especially handy for countries like India, where Tier I, II, and even III cities have good stable 4G networks. For now, NASA, Nokia partnership is going to be a crucial aspect of the Artemis mission. As communication is key for the astronauts, having a good LTE setup is crucial for the mission. Knowing Nokia's services, we can expect to see a reliable and stable 4G LTE on the Moon soon.

NASA Perseverance Rover Launch Delayed Once Again; This Time Due To Anomaly In Liquid Oxygen Sensor - Gizbot
NASA has been working on sending the Perseverance rover to Mars. But looks like there’s a delay in launching the Perseverance rover to Mars and will liftoff no earlier than July 30. The delay is caused by an anomaly in the Liquid Oxygen sensor.
One of NASA's ambitious missions includes sending astronauts to Mars, with the launch taking off from the Moon. Much before this happens, NASA has been working on sending the Perseverance rover to Mars. But looks like there's a delay in launching the Perseverance rover to Mars and will liftoff no earlier than July 30. NASA Perseverance Rover Launch Delayed This means that we'll need to wait longer to see the Perseverance rover begin to explore Mars. The news comes via the official Twitter handle of NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover, which notes that both NASA and United Launch Alliance have delayed the blastoff. The NASA Mars 2020 mission, which was scheduled to liftoff on July 22, will launch "no earlier than" July 30th. The reason being a couple of processing problems with the launch vehicle. A liquid oxygen sensor line produced "off-nominal data" during a practice session, notes NASA. This means the mission team will need extra time to evaluate what happened. Due to processing delays in preparations to unite me with the rocket, my first launch attempt will be no earlier than July 30. @NASA and @ulalaunch are working to update the target launch date and have been able to expand the launch period until Aug. 15. https://t.co/cwfwy5cTY0pic.twitter.com/XICMjwtx7h — NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover (@NASAPersevere) June 30, 2020 At the same time, it doesn't mean that NASA will launch the Perseverance rover on July 30 and will certainly have more time if that date doesn't work. NASA had originally planned to liftoff around August 5, but now analysts have extended the window until August 15. For all we know, another extension could also be possible. NASA Mars 2020 Mission The Perseverance rover is an important equipment for Mars exploration. The rover is expected to land in the Jezero crater on Mars on February 2021. The Perseverance rover will work on excavating possible life forms on Mars and return samples to Earth. It is an important mission as it also helps to understand the planet's geological history as well. NASA has been working on the Perseverance rover for years together now and the delay could be a patience test for many. Moreover, this isn't the first delay. Earlier, NASA had pushed the launch date from July 17 to July 22 due to a problem with encapsulating the spacecraft.; and now to July 30. Although the premier space agency has a window for the launch, the delay could further affect the human spaceflight to Mars.
SpaceX Spacesuits Gets High Ratings From NASA Astronauts - Gizbot
Apart from providing spaceships to head to outer space, SpaceX also provides its passengers with spacesuits. NASA astronauts have tried out these SpaceX spacesuits and here is the scorecard.
On May 30, SpaceX and NASA together created one of the iconic moments of 2020, kickstarting the space launch aboard a private space rocket. Apart from providing spaceships to head to outer space, SpaceX also provides its passengers with spacesuits. NASA astronauts have tried out these spacesuits and here is the scorecard. Firstly, the new SpaceX spacesuits give a movie-star look to it, something that astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken enjoyed during the Demo-2 test flight to ISS. As a stark contrast to the NASA spacesuit, often teased as the 'pumpkin suit', the SpaceX spacesuits are all white, giving it a better aesthetic vibe. The SpaceX spacesuits, like all spacesuits, were custom-made for the astronauts and thus extensively used during the training for the Demo-2 mission. As astronaut Hurley said in a press statement, these spacesuits were fitted to the individual body types and "were actually easier to get in and out of in zero-G". "We'd have to get the suits a five-star rating," another astronaut Behnken added during the discussion about the SpaceX suits. It should be noted that the NASA pumpkin spacesuits or the Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES) and the SpaceX suits aren't designed for spacewalks. They are designed for backup during launches and landings. However, they do have particular tasks to handle like protecting astronauts in case of fire or depressurization. The SpaceX spacesuits are also designed to plug into seat umbilicals carrying oxygen and cool air from the spacecraft. The gloves on the spacesuit, another crucial aspect of the entire wardrobe, were also specially designed. For one, gloves were custom-made to be able to work on the Falcon 9's touchscreens. The SpaceX spacesuit has undergone trial and testing on multiple occasions. "One of the things that was important in the development of the suit was to make it easy to use, something that the crew just literally has to plug in when they sit down, and the suit takes care of things from there," noted Chris Trigg, SpaceX's spacesuits and crew equipment manager while explaining the designs.

Not many would have heard of the NASA Authorization Act, 2010. The passing of this act led to the work of the Space Launch System (SLS), a launch vehicle to carry cargo and crew to the Moon and other space explorations. The SLS, for all its heavy launch technology, has suffered a series of delays and setbacks, till now. After years of complications and multiple delays, the engineering team at NASA Stennis Space Center completed a Green Run of the SLS's Core Stage. A Green Run refers to a full range of tests and functional checks designed to validate the flight hardware of a system. This testing involves the rocket's critical systems, prepping it for the inaugural launch in November 2021. Going into the details, the Green Run on the NASA SLS began back in January, where engineers started the activation and testing of the core stage components. This will culminate with a test firing of the core stage's RS-25 engines, which will replicate the SLS's first launch. As expected, the NASA SLS will play a crucial role in the Artemis Mission and future space explorations. "Green Run is the step-by-step testing and analysis of the new SLS rocket core stage that will send astronauts to the Moon," said Richard Sheppard, the SLS Stages Green Run Test Lead from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in a press release. Apple WWDC event is going to be an online one this time and the company is gearing up for various announcements. Various reports have stressed that Apple is working on enhancing its AR platform. It's now been reported that the iPhone maker is working on an AR app dubbed Gobi that will be integrated in iOS 14. Apple AR Gobi App Apple's AR Gobi doesn't have anything to do with the cauliflowers, notes ex-TechCrunch reporter Josh Constine. The AR app Gobi is said to have customized QR codes for the Mac Pro, Star Wars, Starbucks, Apple Watch, and more. So, if you scan these QR codes on the Gobi app, it would open the respective websites. For instance, it would open the Star Wars Rogue One movie on iTunes or the Starbucks app's sign-in to order page, avail discounts, and so on. Adding to the app's capabilities, the leaked iOS 14 file notes that users can even shop on the app. The shopping feature takes the user to the Apple store online, where they can check out a 3D rendering of the Apple Watch. Constine further notes that the Gobi app can show an AR version of the pagoda tower and can be placed on a table. This is quite similar to Google AR, which allows users to view AR objects in the real environment and has been quite trending during the lockdown. Apple AR Technology It's been evident that Apple has been stressing on AR technology and how it could define future technology. Adding to the list of AR capabilities on the upcoming iOS 14, the Find My app is also said to include a few enhancements. The app will give away sound and vibration feedback to help users locate their missing devices. Depending on how near they are to the lost device, the Find My app will play sounds according to their progress. Encouraging sounds will play when the user is close to finding their iPhone or iPad. Surely, these AR features are promising and many users are eager to try it out. But do note that iOS 14 won't hit your iPhone till later this year. But, the good news is that Apple is expected to announce iOS 14 next month at the WWDC event.
