Many people believe in making their first meal of the day the biggest. And what can be bigger than eating rice in the morning with some vegetables or eggs? If you head to some states of northeast India, you will find locals starting their day with rice. Even in some countries like Japan, rice always makes it to their morning meal. It keeps them full for hours and keeps them energised. However, we have a question on our mind: Is eating rice in the morning actually a good breakfast idea or not.
HealthShots connected with Neha Pathania, dietitian, Paras Hospitals, Gurugram to find out if eating rice in the morning is healthy or not.
Ultra-processed food has always had a bad reputation in the world of nutrition. Endless studies talk about the harmful effects of eating highly processed food. If you’re not already familiar, frizzy drinks, packaged goods like bread, ready-to-eat cereals, etc., all classify as ultra-processed food. These foods are generally high in salt, fat, and sugar and contain artificial additives that can lead to several health problems like heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. A new study has also found that eating highly processed foods may put you at a greater risk of developing cancer.
Eating ultra-processed food may lead to cancer
If your eyes start itching or burning or feel sore, it may not always be due to an allergy. The uncomfortable and painful condition can be connected to problems with your thyroid gland, which is small and looks like a butterfly located right at the base of your neck. Dry eyes are even seen as the first sign of a thyroid disorder. So, don’t just reach out for the eye drops that generally work for you. Sometimes, it’s better to get checked and see if dry eyes are connected to a thyroid disorder.
HealthShots consulted Dr Mahesh Chavan, Consultant, Endocrinology, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, and Dr Abhishek Hoshing, Consultant, Ophthalmology, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai to explore the link between dry eyes and thyroid disorder.
No matter what, you do not want to find yourself near a neutron star.
These stellar beasts, made mostly of neutrons, are basically ultra-dense cosmic corpses roaming around space and, with incomprehensibly strong gravitational fields, torturing everything in their paths.
